ECIL is a Miniratna Category-I Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy. The training runs for one year from 2 November 2026 under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.

ECIL has notified 310 seats in 13 trades. You must apply in the trade that matches your NCVT certificate.

What the Seat Numbers Tell You

• Four trades hold 85% of the seats. Fitter (87), Electronics Mechanic (86), Electrician (50) and COPA (41) together account for 264 of 310 seats.
• Five trades have only 2 seats each. Machinist (Grinder), Painter, Carpenter, Plumber and Diesel Mechanic share just 10 seats between them.
• SC, ST and EWS seats are zero in those five trades. Each of them offers one UR seat and one OBC seat only.

Can Candidates from Other States Apply?

No. The notification allows only candidates residing in Telangana State to apply. This rule applies across all districts of Telangana. If you live outside Telangana, this drive is not for you, so save your time for other apprenticeship notifications.

Educational Qualification

You need an ITI Pass Certificate, issued under the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), in the trade you apply for. The qualification must come from an institute recognised by the appropriate statutory authority.

Age Limit (as on 31 October 2026)

The minimum age is 18 years. In simple terms, you should have been born on or before 31 October 2008.

The notification gives PwD candidates an additional 10 years over the category limit, so the last column simply adds 10 years to each limit. PwD candidates need a disability of 40% or above.

Who Cannot Apply

Candidates who have already completed, or are currently undergoing, apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 are not eligible. This covers apprenticeships in any government body, PSU or private company.

1. Register on the MSDE apprenticeship portal at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
2. Open the ECIL website at www.ecil.co.in and go to Human Resources, then Current Job Openings.
3. Open the ITI Trade Apprentice advertisement (No. 11/2026) and fill in the online application form.
4. Submit the form and note down the system-generated application number.
5. Take a printout of the registered application form. You can re-print it any time before the last date.

ECIL Apprentice Joining Formalities – Police Verification and Fitness Certificate

This is the part many applicants miss. ECIL is a highly protected establishment, so you can join only after submitting two papers.

• Police Verification Certificate (PVC) from the office of the Superintendent of Police at your district headquarters.
• Physical fitness certificate from a Civil Surgeon or Assistant Surgeon.
