Eligibility – RBI Grade B & Grade A Recruitment 2026

1. Age Eligibility

Age eligibility is calculated as on 1 February 2026.

Legal Officer (Grade B)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 32 years
  • Candidates with LLM/PhD may get upper age relaxation as per rules.

Manager (Technical – Civil / Electrical) – Grade B

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 35 years

Relevant work experience is required for this post.

Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) – Grade A

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
  • Upper age may extend up to 32 years for candidates with PhD qualification.

Assistant Manager (Protocol & Security) – Grade A

  • Minimum Age: 25 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Minimum 10 years of commissioned service in Armed Forces required.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Government of India rules:

  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • PwBD – 10 years (additional relaxation as applicable)
  • Ex-Servicemen – As per norms

2. Educational Qualification– RBI Grade B & Grade A Recruitment 2026

Legal Officer (Grade B) : Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB)
  • Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD)

  • Minimum 2 years experience
    • As an Advocate
    • OR as a Law Officer in any organization
    • OR as a Law Teacher in a recognized institution

👉 Practical legal experience is mandatory for this post.

Manager (Technical – Civil) – Grade B

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience
    • In planning, execution, or supervision of construction projects

Manager (Technical – Electrical) – Grade B

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
    • In electrical installations, maintenance, or large project handling

Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) – Grade A

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have:

Second Class Master’s Degree in Hindi / Hindi Translation with English as a subject at graduation level

OR

Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a subject at graduation level

OR

Master’s Degree in any subject with Hindi medium and English as a subject at graduation level

OR

Master’s Degree in any subject with English medium and Hindi as a subject at graduation level

Experience:

  • Experience is desirable but not mandatory.

👉 Strong translation skills are important for this role.

Assistant Manager (Protocol & Security) – Grade A

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate in any discipline

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of commissioned service in Army/Navy/Air Force

This post is mainly for Ex-Servicemen Officers.

Important Note

  • All qualifications must be from a recognized University.
  • Experience must be relevant and post-qualification.
  • Candidates must produce supporting documents when required.

Selection Process of RBI Grade B and Grade A

The selection process generally includes:

  1. Online Written Examination
  2. Interview

Final merit list is prepared based on combined marks of written exam and interview.

Legal Officer (Grade B)

Exam Pattern

The written exam has two papers:

Paper 1 – Law (Objective + Descriptive)

  • Total Marks: 150
  • Duration: 3 Hours

Paper 2 – English (Descriptive)

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 3 Hours

After clearing the written exam, candidates are called for an Interview (40 marks approx.).

This post is for engineering graduates with experience.

Exam Pattern

There are two papers:

Paper 1 – Objective (Technical Subject)

  • 100 Marks
  • 1 Hour

Paper 2 – Descriptive (Technical Subject)

  • 100 Marks
  • 3 Hours

Then comes the Interview (35 marks approx.).

👉 The level of questions is similar to a B.E./B.Tech standard.

Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) – Grade A

This post is for candidates with a strong Hindi and translation background.

Exam Pattern

Paper 1 (Objective) – 150 Marks (2 Hours)

  • English Language – 35
  • General Awareness (Banking/Economy) – 35
  • Professional Knowledge (Official Language) – 45

Paper 2 (Descriptive) – 50 Marks (1 Hour)
