Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The required qualification depends on the post level and discipline:

Draughtsman Posts (Post Codes 1–5): Diploma in the relevant engineering branch — Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation/Electronics & Instrumentation, or Civil Engineering/Architecture.

Sr. Draughtsman (Post Code 6): Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture.

Engineer Design Posts (Post Codes 7–13): Full-time Degree in the relevant engineering branch — Chemical/Petrochemical/Chemical Technology, Mechanical, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/Electrical & Instrumentation, Instrumentation, or Civil Engineering.

Deputy Manager, Senior Manager & Asst. General Manager Posts (Post Codes 14–34): Degree in the relevant engineering branch as above.

✅ Only full-time regular courses are accepted. Degrees or diplomas obtained through distance learning, correspondence, part-time, or private study will not be considered.

✅ Qualifications must be approved by UGC / AICTE / AIU (Association of Indian Universities).

✅ Candidates with 5-year integrated BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech dual degree in the relevant discipline are also eligible.

Experience Requirement

This recruitment is experience-based — there is no written exam for engineering grades. The experience levels applicable for each post group are:

Apprenticeship Counts: One year of apprenticeship training with a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) issued by the Board of Apprenticeship Training is treated as one year of experience for all post codes.

Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates is available as per Government of India directives. Std X certificate is the only accepted proof of date of birth.

FACT FEDO Salary 2026 – How Much Will You Earn?

The salary is on a consolidated pay basis — no separate grade pay or allowances. Here is the full pay scale:

Additional Pay for Extra Experience: For each completed year of experience above the minimum, an additional 3% is paid on the consolidated pay, up to the maximum limit shown above.

Annual Increment: A 3% annual increment on consolidated pay is provided, subject to contract renewal.

Selection Process

The selection method differs by post type:

For Draughtsman and Sr. Draughtsman (Post Codes 1–6):

1. Skill Test in Engineering Drafting Software (AutoCAD or equivalent)
2. Candidates are ranked based on marks scored in the skill test
3. In case of a tie, ranking is decided by: (a) more completed years of relevant experience, (b) earlier year of passing the diploma, and (c) earlier date of birth

For Engineers, Deputy Managers, Senior Managers & Asst. General Managers (Post Codes 7–34):

1. Personal Interview — shortlisted candidates will be called based on application review
2. Final selection based on interview marks
