HAL Junior Executive Recruitment 2026 is open, and engineering graduates have only until 17 October 2026 (14:00 hrs) to apply. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Defence, wants 150 Junior Executives on a short-term basis. The advertisement number is HAL/CHRC-TAR/RECT-03/2026.

Here is the big attraction: there is no written test. Your aggregate marks in B.E./B.Tech decide whether you are called, and an interview decides the final selection. The pay starts at ₹30,000 basic in the E0 scale, and with dearness allowance and the cafeteria allowance your monthly gross is far higher.

There is one catch you must understand before applying. This is a three-year engagement, not a regular post. We explain what that means for you below, along with a salary calculation, discipline-wise competition and a deadline plan.

Your Realistic Deadline: 13 October

General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates must pay a fee, and HAL says payment validation takes 48 to 72 hours. Your final application form is available only after that validation. If you pay on the last morning, you risk an incomplete application.

💡 Pro Tip: Pay the fee by 13 October 2026 at the latest. That leaves room for validation and for fixing any payment glitch.

HAL Junior Executive Vacancy 2026 – Discipline-wise Details

HAL has notified 150 vacancies in nine engineering disciplines. Reservation applies category-wise. Vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are spread across all categories, with 6 vacancies reserved in total.

Mechanical alone accounts for 78 of the 150 posts, which is 52% of all vacancies. Electrical (25) and Electronics (21) add another 46. So mechanical, electrical and electronics engineers hold about 83% of the seats.

If you are from Civil, Chemical, Aeronautical, Metallurgy, Computer Science or Production, the numbers are small. Some categories in these disciplines have zero seats. Check your own category column before you spend ₹500 on the fee.

⚠️ HAL has also said the number of vacancies can be increased, reduced or cancelled at its discretion.

HAL Junior Executive Salary 2026 – What You Will Really Earn

HAL places Junior Executives in the E0 pay scale (2017) of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), which runs from ₹30,000 to ₹1,20,000. You start at ₹30,000 basic. Your pay is made up of basic pay, Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA), the cafeteria allowance and House Rent Allowance (HRA) when no company quarter is provided.

Sample Monthly Salary Calculation

The latest IDA rate we could confirm for the 2017 pay scale is 55.7%, effective 01 July 2026. IDA is revised every quarter, so your actual rate at joining may differ. The cafeteria allowance is 35% of basic pay. HRA depends on your city class and is not included below.

ComponentYear 1Year 2Year 3
Basic Pay₹30,000₹30,900₹31,827
IDA at 55.7%₹16,710₹17,211₹17,727
Cafeteria Allowance (35% of basic)₹10,500₹10,815₹11,139
Gross (before HRA and deductions)₹57,210₹58,926₹60,693

The annual 3% increment applies in the second and third year. We have compounded it for this table. Provident Fund (PF), income tax and other deductions will reduce your in-hand pay, and HRA will add to it.

So the real starting figure is closer to ₹57,000 a month before HRA, not the ₹30,000 that headlines suggest.

Other Benefits

  • Medical insurance cover up to ₹10 lakh, with reimbursement of up to ₹25,000 per year. You must submit the policy proof within three months of joining.
  • Casual leave, vacation leave and compensatory off as applicable to regular officers, plus vacation leave encashment at the end of the tenure.
  • Uniform, stitching charges and shoe allowance.
  • Maternity benefits, crèche facility and paternity leave.
  • Provident Fund contributions as per rules.
  • Gratuity on completing the term, subject to one year of service, calculated pro rata.
  • TA/DA for joining, temporary duty and transfers, as applicable to regular officers at Grade-I.
  • Periodic medical check-up and company quarters where available.

Short-term Junior Executives are not entitled to any other allowance or benefit and cannot use HAL’s own hospitals and dispensaries.

Is This Job Right for You? What Short-Term Really Means

This is the part most posts skip. Read it before you apply.

  • Fixed 3-year tenure. The engagement ends automatically after three years. There is no extension.
  • No regular status. HAL states clearly that the engagement gives no right to claim status as a regular executive.
  • Termination on notice. Either side can end the engagement with one month’s notice, or by paying Basic plus DA in lieu of notice.
  • Transferable. You can be posted or transferred to any HAL division, centre or office. Requests for a change of posting after joining are not entertained.
  • Company rules apply. HAL CDA (conduct, discipline and appeal) rules apply to you.

Who should apply: fresh and recent graduates who want 3 years of aerospace and defence manufacturing experience on a CPSU résumé, and candidates who are open to relocating across India.

Who should think twice: anyone looking for a permanent government post with pension security. If that is your goal, keep this as a backup and look at regular PSU recruitments such as NTPC Executive Trainee or the BEML Junior Executive opening.

Selection Process

HAL has kept the process simple, and it has only two stages.

  1. Shortlisting on aggregate marks. HAL ranks eligible candidates by their aggregate marks in the qualifying degree. It calls up to 10 candidates per vacancy, in each discipline and category.
  2. Interview. A Selection Committee assesses your suitability. You must score at least 50% in the interview to qualify, with relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD as per rules.

There is no written exam. If two candidates have the same marks, the elder candidate is preferred.

The interview is tentatively planned for November 2026. HAL will email shortlisted candidates and also publish the shortlist on its website. Merely meeting the eligibility conditions does not guarantee a call.

What This Means for You

  • Your degree marks are your entry ticket, so a higher percentage means a better chance of an interview call.
  • With up to 10 candidates called per vacancy, you will meet about nine competitors for each seat. Prepare for a technical interview in your own branch.
  • Brush up on core subjects, your final-year project and basic knowledge of HAL’s aircraft and helicopter programmes.

Documents to Keep Ready

  • Valid mobile number and an email ID that stays active throughout the process
  • Passport-size colour photograph in .jpg format, less than 100 KB
  • Signature in .jpg format, less than 50 KB
  • Semester-wise marks of your engineering degree
  • Degree or provisional certificate
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD), if applicable
  • CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate, if applicable
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC), if you are working in a government department or PSU

Candidates called for the interview must show original certificates for everything declared in the form. OBC-NCL certificates must not be older than 6 months as on 17 October 2026.

How to Apply for HAL Junior Executive Recruitment 2026

  1. Go to the official website, www.hal-india.co.in, and open the Careers section.
  2. Click the link for Engagement of Junior Executives on Short Term Basis-2026.
  3. Fill in your eligibility details carefully. These cannot be edited after submission, and a unique application number is generated.
  4. Log in again with that number and complete the personal and qualification details.
  5. Upload your photograph and signature in the prescribed size.
  6. UR, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates should pay the ₹500 fee through SBI Collect. SC, ST and PwBD candidates skip this step.
  7. Wait 48 to 72 hours for payment validation, then log in again and download the final application form.
  8. Save a printout of the confirmation page for the interview stage.

⚠️ Common mistakes that can cost you the application:

  • Applying for more than one discipline. All such applications are rejected and the fee is forfeited. Apply for only one discipline that matches your degree. If you submit twice for the same discipline, only the last one counts.
  • Choosing the wrong category. It cannot be changed later.
  • Typing a wrong mobile number or email. Changes are not allowed, and all interview communication goes there.
  • Skipping the fee payment step. This leads to rejection.

Also be careful about fake offers. HAL warns candidates about fake emails, WhatsApp messages and SMS, and says never to pay any individual or agency for a job.
