Who Can Attend – Coverage Area

This particular Agniveervayu rally is region-specific, so you can attend only if you meet one of these conditions:

  • Your rally venue is decided by your home district. Candidates from all districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura will report at Chumoukedima, Nagaland.
  • Candidates from all districts of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will report at Sri Vijaya Puram.
  • Sons and daughters of currently serving Air Force personnel (COAFP-I) or of retired/discharged/deceased Air Force personnel (COAFP-II) residing in these regions are also eligible, even if their own domicile lies elsewhere.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (Date of Birth Block)

CategoryDate of Birth WindowUpper Age at Enrolment
All Candidates01 January 2005 to 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive)22 years

✅ Only unmarried male and female candidates can apply. Agniveervayu must remain unmarried throughout the four-year engagement — getting married during this period leads to dismissal from service. Female candidates must also stay unpregnant during the tenure, or they risk dismissal and will be barred from Regular Cadre selection.

Educational Qualification (Other Than Science Subjects)

You need to have passed one of the following, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English:

  • 10+2/Intermediate examination in any stream, from a recognised Board; OR

  • A three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology) from a recognised Polytechnic.

💡 Pro Tip: The Air Force considers only the whole-number percentage exactly as printed on your marksheet. So 49.99% is treated as 49%, not rounded up to 50% — double-check your marksheet before assuming you’re eligible.

Selection Process for IAF Agniveervayu Recruitment 2026

The entire selection happens over one or two days at the rally venue itself, in this order:

  1. Document Verification — Your original/DigiLocker-verified certificates are checked before the Physical Fitness Test to confirm prima-facie eligibility.
  2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) — PFT-I is a 1.6 km run (7 minutes for men, 8 minutes for women). After 10 minutes’ rest, PFT-II covers push-ups, sit-ups, and squats within set time limits.
  3. Written Test — A 45-minute bilingual (English & Hindi) paper covering English (20 questions, as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (30 questions), held the same day for candidates who clear the PFT. You must qualify each section separately. Marking is +1 for correct answers, 0 for unattempted ones, and -0.25 for each wrong or multiple-marked answer.
  4. Adaptability Test-I — An objective written test checking your suitability for Air Force employment.
  5. Adaptability Test-II — Conducted the same or a following day, assessing your adaptability to military life.
  6. Medical Examination — Held in September at Jorhat (11 ASC) for Nagaland-rally candidates, and at Sri Vijaya Puram (8 ASC) for Andaman-rally candidates, covering blood, urine, biochemistry, chest X-ray, ECG, and (for women) ultrasonography.

How to Attend the IAF Agniveervayu Rally

Since there is no online application, follow these steps to be rally-ready:

  1. Confirm your correct rally venue and reporting date based on your home district and gender category.
  2. Reach the venue well before 6:00 AM on your scheduled reporting date — entry closes strictly at 10:00 AM.
  3. Carry all original certificates along with four self-attested photocopies of each.
  4. Bring ten un-attested passport-size colour photographs, taken while holding a black slate with your name and date written in white chalk.
  5. Keep writing material ready — HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler, and black/blue ball-point pens.
  6. Carry a signed Consent Form for the Physical Fitness and Medical Tests (parents/guardians must sign for candidates below 18 years).
  7. Proceed through document verification, then the PFT, Written Test, Adaptability Tests, and finally the medical examination, as per the schedule.

💡 Pro Tip: Keep your Domicile Certificate, matriculation certificate, and 10+2/Diploma certificate photocopies organised in separate folders beforehand — rally venues move fast, and disorganised paperwork is one of the most common reasons candidates lose time or get rejected at the scrutiny stage.
