Vacancy Details

A total of 10 vacancies have been notified for the JAG Entry Scheme 125th Course, combined for both men and women candidates. Keep in mind that the Indian Army releases combined vacancy numbers based on operational requirements, and the final selection depends entirely on your position in the merit list — not a separate quota split announced in advance.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

To apply for this Short Service Commission (JAG) entry, you need:

  • An LLB degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (either the 3-year professional course after graduation, or the 5-year integrated course after 10+2)
  • A valid CLAT PG 2026 score — this exam was conducted in December 2025, and it’s mandatory for everyone, including candidates who already hold or are pursuing an LLM. No other CLAT PG score cycle will be accepted.
  • Eligibility for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India or a State Bar Council, from a college recognised by the Bar Council of India

✅ Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible to apply for this entry.

Selection Process

The JAG Entry Scheme selection process runs through six stages:

  1. Application Shortlisting – Applications are shortlisted based on your CLAT PG 2026 score and the vacancy-to-call-up ratio decided by the Integrated HQ of MoD (Army).
  2. SSB Centre & Date Selection – Shortlisted candidates choose their SSB centre and dates on a first-come-first-served basis. Once locked in, this cannot be changed.
  3. SSB Interview – A two-stage process spread over five days, conducted at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, and Jalandhar. If you don’t clear Stage-I, you’re sent back the same day.
  4. Medical Examination – Conducted for candidates who clear Stage-II of the SSB. Your medical clearance stays valid for 270 days from the SSB date to your joining date at the academy.
  5. Merit List – Prepared purely on SSB interview marks. In case of a tie, the older candidate ranks higher; if age also matches, the candidate with higher qualifying marks gets preference.
  6. Joining Letter – Issued to medically fit candidates within the merit list and notified vacancies, for training at OTA Chennai.

⚠️ If you don’t report within 7 days of your reporting date, your candidature will be cancelled and the next candidate in merit will be called up instead.
