None of the three posts has seats set aside for the Divyang (PwD) horizontal category. Vacancy numbers may go up or down as per government rules.

💡 Pro Tip: Competition looks lightest on paper for the UJVNL Mechanical post, which has 25 seats and 13 unreserved. But your trade decides your choice, so apply where your ITI certificate fits.

Who Can Apply? Trade-Wise Eligibility Check

Every candidate needs a Class 10 pass with Science and Maths. After that, the required ITI trade depends on the post.

PostRequired ITI TradeExperience Needed
Electrical – PTCULElectrician2 years of relevant work experience
Electrical – UJVNLElectrician or Electronics2 years, gained after the qualification
Mechanical – UJVNLFitter2 years, gained after the qualification

The ITI certificate must come from NCVT or SCVT. PTCUL also expects good knowledge of the Devanagari script.

✅ Experience certificates are accepted from government bodies, semi-government bodies, limited companies, private limited companies, and registered private firms. You must hold every qualification by 25 November 2026.

⚠️ Do not count your apprenticeship or training years blindly. Read the experience clause in the official notification, and confirm that your certificate states the trade and exact dates.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)

The basic age range is 18 to 42 years. That means you should have been born between 02 July 1984 and 01 July 2008.

Category (Uttarakhand domicile)RelaxationUpper Age Limit
General / EWSNone42 years
SC / ST / OBC5 years47 years
Divyang (PwD)10 years52 years
Dependents of Freedom Fighters5 years47 years
Ex-ServicemenMilitary service is deducted from actual age; the result must not exceed the upper limit by more than 3 yearsAs per rule

The upper-age figures in the last column are our own calculation from the stated relaxation. Cross-check them against the official notification before you apply.

Domicile and Employment Exchange Rule

This is a Group C recruitment, so one of these three conditions must be met:

  • You are registered at an employment exchange in Uttarakhand by the last date of application.
  • You hold an Uttarakhand domicile or permanent residence certificate.
  • You passed both High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) from a recognised institution in Uttarakhand.

Employees already working in Uttarakhand state government services do not need employment exchange registration. Ex-servicemen registered with a District Sainik Kalyan office are treated as registered.

Candidates from other states can therefore apply if they meet one of the conditions above. However, reservation benefits go only to Uttarakhand domiciles who claim them in the online form.

You must be an Indian citizen. A few other groups, such as certain Tibetan refugees and persons of Indian origin from specified countries, are also eligible with a state government certificate.

UKSSSC Technician Grade-II Salary 2026 – Level-4 Pay Explained

All three posts sit in Pay Level-4, with a scale of ₹27,200 to ₹86,100 per month. Allowances are paid as per Uttarakhand state rules. These are permanent, non-gazetted jobs, and employees are covered under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF).

The ₹27,200 figure is the starting basic pay. Your actual monthly pay will be higher once Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances are added. To help you picture it, here is a simple example.

Pay ComponentIllustrative Amount (per month)
Starting Basic Pay₹27,200
Dearness Allowance (DA) at an assumed 50%₹13,600
Basic + DA₹40,800
House Rent Allowance, other allowances, EPF and deductionsAs per state rules

⚠️ The 50% DA is only an assumption to show how the calculation works, not the current Uttarakhand rate. Check the latest DA order of the Uttarakhand government for the real figure.

This salary scale also rises steadily. Annual increments push pay towards the ₹86,100 ceiling over a full career. For comparison, you can read how pay levels work in our guide to the 8th Pay Commission pay matrix and fitment factor.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection rests on a single offline written test, followed by document verification. There is no interview.

Key Exam Rules

  • Marking two answers, using whitener, or cutting on the OMR sheet counts as a wrong answer.
  • You can take home the question booklet and the third copy of your OMR sheet.
  • The Commission publishes the answer key online. Objections cost ₹50 per question.
  • If two candidates tie, the older one ranks higher. If age is also equal, English alphabetical order decides.
  • The Commission allots your post and department by merit and by the preference you give in the form.

How to Prepare for the UKSSSC Technician Exam

The paper tests what you studied in your ITI trade, so your preparation should be practical and trade-focused. First, download Appendix-1 from the official notice. Then plan around it.

The topics below are general suggestions for each trade, not the official syllabus. Always match them against Appendix-1.

TradeAreas Worth Revising
ElectricianOhm’s law, AC and DC circuits, transformers, motors, earthing, wiring and electrical safety
ElectronicsBasic components, semiconductors, rectifiers, digital circuits, measuring instruments
FitterMeasuring tools, fits and tolerances, drilling, filing, lathe basics, workshop safety

Here is a simple way to use the months before the tentative exam date:

  1. Weeks 1–4: Revise your ITI theory books and make short notes.
  2. Weeks 5–10: Solve trade-wise multiple choice questions daily.
  3. Weeks 11–15: Take timed mock tests of 100 questions in 2 hours.
  4. Final two weeks: Revise notes and practise OMR-style marking.

💡 Pro Tip: Because wrong answers cost one-fourth of the marks, skip a question when you are truly unsure. Guess only when you can rule out at least two options.

How to Apply Online for UKSSSC Technician Recruitment 2026

You can apply at sssc.uk.gov.in from 12 October 2026 to 25 November 2026. The process has five steps.

  1. Register: Use your Aadhaar number (one Aadhaar works only once), your own mobile number and your email ID. Save the registration number and password.
  2. Fill in details: Enter your qualification, work experience, category, and your post and department preference.
  3. Upload photo and signature: The photo is captured live through your device camera with face detection. Upload your signature and left thumb impression, each at 150 × 100 pixels in JPG or JPEG.
  4. Pay the fee: Use a debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
  5. Print the form: Your application is complete only when its status shows “Completed”. Keep a printout.

Documents to Keep Ready

  • High School certificate, to verify your name and date of birth
  • Aadhaar card (both sides)
  • Category or sub-category certificate for vertical and horizontal reservation
  • Experience certificate showing 2 years of work

Mistakes That Can Cancel Your Application

  • Your name, father’s name and date of birth must match your High School certificate exactly.
  • Submit only one application per post. Multiple forms for the same post are all cancelled.
  • The correction window will not let you change your name, parents’ names, age or exam centre.
  • The EWS certificate must be issued between 01 April 2026 and 25 November 2026, based on 2025-26 income.
  • An OBC certificate must be valid on the last date of application. It stays valid for 3 years from the issue date.

⚠️ Don’t wait for the last day! Government portals slow down near deadlines, so apply a few days early.

Why This Job Is Worth Your Attention

A permanent Level-4 post in a state power utility offers more than a salary. You get job security, a defined pay scale with increments, and EPF cover. The work also stays close to your trade skills.

The vacancy list is also modest. Only 78 seats are open across the state, so serious preparation matters. If you also hold a diploma or want wider options, browse our state government jobs and PSU jobs sections. ITI candidates can also look at the NPCIL Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026.
