Note-Maulvi Certificate, ITI (two year course whose certificate is issued by NCVT/SCVT) and Polytechnic (three year Engineering Diploma) will be treated as equivalent to Intermediate.

Exam Pattern Bihar BSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025

• A preliminary examination will be held if more than 40,000 applications are received If a large number of applications are received, the preliminary examination may be conducted in more than one phase. In the event of multiple phases of the examination, the results will be prepared using a process of equalization.
• The written examination will be objective and multiple choice in nature.
• There will be one paper of General Knowledge in the written examination, which will have the following subjects:-
  • (a) General Studies
  • (b) General Science and Mathematics
  • (c) Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability Test
• The total number of questions will be 150.
• Each correct answer will carry 4 marks, and each incorrect answer will carry 1 mark.
• The exam will last 2 hours and 15 minutes.
• Candidates equal to 05 (five) times the number of category-wise vacancies selected through the written examination will be shortlisted for the practical examination (Skill Test)

Syllabus for Bihar BSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025

(A)General Studies: Questions here will be aimed at assessing the candidate’s general knowledge of the environment around him or her and their application to society. Questions will also include questions on matters of which any intellectual is expected to possess knowledge, such as current events and the critical observation of everyday events and a scientific approach to them. Questions may also be asked specifically about Bihar, India, and its neighboring countries.

(1) Current Affairs: Scientific Advances, National/International Awards, Indian Languages, Books, Scripts, Capital, Currency, Sportspersons, Important Events.

(2) India and its neighbouring countries: History of neighbouring countries, Indian history, culture, geography, economic scenario, freedom movement, salient features of Indian agriculture and natural resources, Indian Constitution and Polity, Political system of the country, Panchayati Raj, Community development, Five Year Plan and contribution of Bihar in the national movement.

(B) General Science and Mathematics: – Generally, questions can be asked from the following subjects of Matriculation level.

(1)General science: Basic questions related to knowledge of Mathematical Sciences Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Computer Basics/Word Processing.

(2) Mathematics: Questions related to Mis-number system, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, head-to-head relationships of numbers, basic arithmetic operations, percentage, ratio and proportion, average, interest, profit and loss.

(C) Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability Test: Both verbal and non-verbal questions can be asked in this. -Story analogy, similarity and Dissimilarity, spatial imagination, problem solving, analysis, visual memory, discrimination, Blood relation, Arithmetical reasoning, Numerological number series, coding and decoding, Series, classification, mirror image, hidden figure, picture matrix, paper cutting, group images, Cubes and Dice, analogy, analytical reasoning, water image, pattern completion, folding Paper, Rule Identification, Dot situational diagram formation and analysis.
